Summary: This full-time position will play a critical role in advancing the purpose of the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) by developing, coordinating, and supporting training and librarian engagement with TEL resources.
The Tennessee Electronic Library is a statewide database program available to all libraries and Tennesseans. This position will assist the TEL Administrator with providing in-person, hybrid, and virtual trainings and events on TEL for public, school, and academic libraries. The Tennessee Electronic Library is seeking a service-oriented candidate who is committed to providing library resources to Tennesseans. The ideal candidate for the TEL Training Assistant position is an innovative trainer who will develop engaging training and learning experiences. The TEL Training Assistant ensures library staff across the state are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver exceptional service and training to Tennessee library communities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct training for librarians, teachers, and students in-person or virtually as scheduled.
- Serve as TEL’s primary contact for training planning, implementation, and logistical support.
- Prepare materials for training activities including PowerPoint presentations, short training videos, and handouts.
- Present at conferences and librarian/teacher workshops on TEL resources.
- Track, analyze, and report data on trainings.
- Establish partnerships with libraries, school districts, and other educators through various forms of outreach, including social media, conferences, email campaigns, etc.
- Creating an evaluation mechanism to determine the effectiveness of the training and to identify potential training topic additions.
- Update TEL and TEL4U websites as directed.
- Update TEL Academy, TEL’s asynchronous training platform, as resources are updated.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in providing training for education or library organizations.
- Excellent presentation/training skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Overall knowledge of general library practices.
- Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally.
- Tactful and professional manner in dealing with the public, whether in person, by telephone, or through email.
- Expert ability in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with Articulate 360 or other e-learning platforms is preferred.
- Working knowledge of video conferencing platforms.
- Ability to travel and access to reliable transportation .
- Possess ability to simultaneously utilize telephone and computer system for extended periods.
- Possess ability to sit for long periods.
- Assist the organization to create a safe and healthy work environment by working safely with the equipment provided.
- Follow instructions given for health and safety purposes and immediately report any unsafe working practices or hazardous working conditions.
- Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
- While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to move from place to place, speak and hear, bend, stoop, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
